Community Services

Volunteers at St Marys

St Cuthberts Care's community services target the most impoverished and marginalised people in our society: those living in abject poverty; older people who have become isolated from their communities; asylum seekers; homeless individuals; those suffering from addiction or mental health issues and more recently, the growing number of families who are struggling to make ends meet in this difficult financial climate.

In keeping with the charity's Purpose, working to the common good by enabling people to develop to their personal potential, we have devised ways to identify 'hard-to-reach' individuals: people who have opted out of society, or who have fallen under its radar, becoming less visible than those accessing mainstream services.

St Cuthberts Care's community services are truly charitable projects, offering goods and services free of charge, or at nominal cost, across our north east region. The charity relies upon the generosity of its stalwart supporters to pay for the entire cost of its community projects. We guarantee that every penny of donated income is spent on its intended cause, without deduction.

The charity works through a small but highly experienced staff team, supported by over one hundred willing volunteers, and reaches out to thousands and thousands of disadvantaged people every year via its two community schemes: 5p Bus project and PACE (Parish And Community Enablement).

Active and caring communities form the heart of every just society. Our two community focused projects are a demonstration of the charity's absolute commitment to making a difference to the lives of those most in need across our north east region.

With need increasing month on month, our only constraint is money. Please help us if you can by becoming a regular supporter of St Cuthberts Care.
