Day Services

St Cuthberts Care is committed to supporting and enabling older members of the community to remain part of, and to access, community life. Our day centres in Consett and Gateshead provide much needed support and care for older people who suffer either from dementia or from social isolation.

St Joseph's Day Centre

St Joseph's Day Centre in Gateshead is a specialist unit providing day time care and support for older people with dementia, enabling them to continue to live in their own homes, whilst ensuring that their carers are given time to have a break. The day centre offers a wide range of experiences and activities including arts and crafts, cookery and outings.

Blackhill Day Centre

Blackhill Day Centre in Consett offers day time activities to older people living in their own homes. As a local service, the centre plays an important role in encouraging local older people to engage with the community, and not become socially isolated.

Aimed particularly at the over 65s, Blackhill Day Centre offers a caring and supportive environment in which to meet like-minded people and enjoy a variety of interesting activities.
